Preparing Your Home for Professional Photography

Professional photos are the key to making a powerful first impression online. Buyers often decide whether to visit a home based on the listing photos, so it’s worth taking the time to make everything shine.

What to Expect

I'll let you know a few days in advance when the photography appointment is scheduled. You won’t need to be home—my team will take care of everything. The session typically takes:

  • 1–2 hours for condos

  • 2–4 hours for single family homes or townhouses, depending on size

In addition to taking high-quality photos, our photographer will create a detailed floor plan of your home. There is no cost to you for the photos or floor plan—these are included as part of our service.

Pro Tips to Maximize Your Home’s Appeal

Here’s how to get your home photo-ready:

  • Remove pets from the home or secure them in a crate

  • Hide all pet-related items, including beds, toys, and food bowls

  • Make all beds and tidy up bedrooms

  • Clear counters in the kitchen and bathrooms

  • Put away dishes and dish racks

  • Turn on all lights and check that every bulb works (especially in lamps!)

  • Declutter all visible areas—less is more. A great trick is to take photos with your phone the day before. If a room looks cluttered in your pictures, it will likely look the same to buyers.

During the Appointment

My team may rearrange furniture or move items to get the best angles and lighting. We always aim to return things to their original place, but you might notice a few things slightly out of order afterward—we appreciate your understanding!

Want to Feature Something Specific?

If there’s a standout feature in your home or neighborhood (like a park, gym, rooftop deck, or garage) that you’d like us to capture, let me know.

What Happens Next?

Photos are typically returned within 48 hours. Once I receive them, I immediately activate your listing in the MLS—your home will be live on the market and ready for buyers to see!
