Rachel's Spotlight: Billings Education Foundation

I was born and raised in Montana, raised my own kids right here in Billings, and now I get the absolute joy of watching my grandkids grow up in the same community that gave my family so much. That’s why supporting our students—and the organizations that stand behind them—hits especially close to home for me.

One of those organizations is the Billings Education Foundation.

Our Kids Are Our Future—And Our Why

I’ve sat in Billings classrooms as a parent, cheered at school events, and now I’m doing it all over again as a grandparent. Our students aren’t just numbers or statistics—they’re our neighbors, our kids’ friends, and the next generation who will shape this city we love.

The Billings Education Foundation helps make sure students have access to opportunities that inspire learning, confidence, and growth—no matter their circumstances.

Why Literacy Matters So Much

Literacy is foundational. I’ve seen firsthand how learning to read confidently changes everything for a child—how it builds independence, curiosity, and belief in themselves. Strong literacy skills open doors not just in school, but throughout life.

When we support literacy initiatives, we’re doing more than teaching kids to read—we’re helping them discover their voice and their potential.

This Is What Community Looks Like

What makes Billings special is how we show up for one another. Neighbors helping neighbors. Businesses supporting schools. A community that understands that when we invest in our kids, we’re investing in everything—our future workforce, our neighborhoods, and our shared sense of home.

As a realtor, I talk a lot about location, lifestyle, and community. As a mom and grandma, I know that strong schools and strong support systems are what truly make a place home.

That’s why I’m proud to support the Billings Education Foundation—and grateful every day that my kids, and now my grandkids, get to grow up right here in Billings.
