Some "To Dos" before our Montana winter

I know, I know. NOBODY wants to talk about winter in August. We’re still enjoying patios, long evenings and pretending summer is going to stick around forever.

But we also live in Montana… which means it could be 85 degrees one day and suddenly feel like November the next.

So while it’s still warm outside, Future You might be VERY thankful if Current You knocks out a few of those home projects now.

A few things worth checking before Montana decides it’s suddenly 20 degrees:

  • Clean out gutters and check downspouts
  • Check sprinklers and irrigation
  • Schedule a furnace service before everyone else does
  • Check weather stripping around doors and windows
  • Take care of exterior caulking or paint touch-ups
  • Give the roof a quick look after our summer storms
  • Check outdoor faucets and hoses
  • Finish THAT ONE outdoor project you’ve been saying you’ll get to “this summer”

And no, you absolutely do not need to spend your entire weekend doing home maintenance. Enjoy what’s left of summer!

But maybe tackle ONE or TWO things now so you’re not outside dealing with them in a winter coat while asking yourself why you didn’t do it when it was 80 degrees.

Because we all know Montana isn’t going to give us much warning. 😉
